Viruseptin mouth spray against cold 20 ml

Viruseptin mouth spray is a non-prescription product that can prevent and counteract colds and flu-like symptoms. The spray contains the active ingredient iota-carrageenan, a substance extracted from sea algae and has proven efficacy against viruses. The Iota carrageenan works by moisturizing the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract and forming a physical barrier against viruses. At the same time, the viruses are encapsulated, making it more difficult for them to gain a foothold in the mucous membrane and multiply.

How Viruseptin works
The quickest way for viruses to attack the body goes through the mucous membrane that sits in the nose – at least for the viruses that cause colds and flu.* If the mucous membrane is dry or irritated, which is caused by, among other things, air pollution and dry air, it becomes easier for viruses to infect the mucous membrane cells. Once the virus takes hold in the cells, it can quickly spread to the rest of the body, where it produces classic cold symptoms such as cough, sore throat, fatigue and sniffles.

A cold spray you can trust
Viruseptin is the first cold spray to have had proven efficacy in several large and well-controlled studies1-5. Both children and adults who have been affected by several different cold and flu viruses have been included in studies of the nasal spray. In one study3, more than 200 adults with early symptoms of a cold received either Viruseptin or placebo three times a day for a week. On average, virus-infected patients using Viruseptin were healthy just over two days faster than those receiving the placebo. In a published meta-study4 with pooled data with over 250 adults and children infected with rhinovirus, coronavirus and influenza virus Type A, nasal spray reduced the disease time by three days, while the risk of getting sick again decreased threefold for the majority of the different virus types. Another clinical study1 has shown that Viruseptin reduces the amount of virus in the nasal mucosa by more than 90 percent.
